So, this weekend...

I had a very pleasant Sunday lunch at the Bear, my new television was delivered, I actually watched Doctor Who on Saturday and I haven't really had much sleep.

Back to life as normal. Well, what passes for normal in Coventry anyway... but that's a whole different post...

Listening to Screaming Banshee Aircrew's "When All Is Said And Done", which I picked up at BTV. Hmm. Consistently enjoying this one - "Fishnet Messiah" wasn't bad, but wasn't exactly my thing...
Full WGT photos/words are likely to appear this weekend. Unless they don't, of course.
Doctor Who really wasn't bad at all. A memorably nasty villain, too. Definitely looking forward to tomorrow's conclusion

Work now. Pub later. And then it's time for the weekend to start ringing the changes...

Home from Leipzig. Tired but rather happy.

I've just binned my suitcase. Partly because the wheels had started squeaking in an intensely irritating way, partly because it was getting a bit battered... and mostly because the huge bag of chocolate covered coffee beans inside it had exploded, coating everything with sticky half-melted chocolate...

Sorry,

chimera_s, it looks like you won't get those beans. :-/

On the plus side, if that had happened on my way to WGT, it would have been really awkward. As it is, all of the chocolate-coated gothgear needed washing anyway. :)

Yes, the Leipzig hotel thing got sorted. It's all ok now - yes,

davefish is mostly dead during daylight hours, but there aren't any serious problems. :-)

I'm in Leipzig.

Now, you might ask why, if I'm in Leipzig, I'm wasting time posting to LJ. That would be because I really, really need to rant. Simple enough answer.

Left London with colfish and blooddoll3, got to Luton, queued for a stupid length of time before finally reaching check-in.
Got train from Berlin to Leipzig. Got delayed for quite some time outside Leipzig, due to a bomb scare(?) at Leipzig station...
Finally reached Leipzig to find that nobody had a map showing where our hotel was. Within walking distance of station, yes, but which direction? This was easy enough to resolve, though.
Reached hotel to find that they'd cancelled our booking, as we were late, and had just rented our rooms to someone else. Lost my sense of humour at this point.
Got taxi from hotel to other hotel, which they'd phoned and arranged alternative rooms (for all five nights) with.
...checked into second hotel, to discover that they thought we were only staying for one night, then moving back into first hotel for the other four nights...?

The saga continues. But right now, beer takes priority.

Normality has resumed. It's definitely a Monday.

Fortunately, I'm off to Leipzig on Thursday, which may help a little. Then again, it might not - there are plenty of good bands playing, but I'm still a little low on enthusiasm.

(Note to self: mead and absinthe are not appropriate substitutes for enthusiasm)

I suspect that I'll be in Morrisons Irish Bar at some point on Thursday night. May see some of you there?
