From previous Rupert Everett/Colin Firth collaborations, I can only hope so. And even if not, there's a chance that the old films might make it onto more available DVD copies if this is a hit, which is a good thing in and of itself.
There's a box set available containing the four original films (in other words, not including The wildcats of St Trinians). I got mine for around £15 in Fopp.
This has been kicking round for some time. It's going to be bloody awful, a disaster of Carry On Columbus-style proportions. Russell Brand as Flash Harry? Spare me.
Okay, the original films got progressively worse, then there was that dire one at the start of the 1980s, The Wildcats of St Trinians, but I predict this will be the all-out worst.
(I love St Trinians. Thank heavens filmmakers have left Molesworth alone.)
