At Three Tuns, CoventryPrice: £3.00
Which, let's be honest, is a bargain. I'm not the greatest fan of Deadfilmstar - just not my thing, really - but Pro-Jekt and Zeitgeist Zero are always fun.
So, who's going?
What I didn't do this weekend
Aug. 26th, 2008 10:05 pmInfest seems to have been interesting this year. Not sure if I'll be going next year. I'd quite like to, but there's a large chunk of me that's just not up for the party-party-party side of it these days.
If I'm going, it's for the people and the music - and I'm going to be relatively sober for the duration. Now, admittedly, relatively sober is a loaded term at Infest... but you know what I mean.
On a similar note, Afterparties are fun, but I do actually need some sleep... and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to sleep late in the mornings...
Hmm. Something to think about later.

Yet more gardening...
Aug. 21st, 2008 08:28 pmI appear to be able to kill horseradish. Or at least make it severely unwell. Given that it's supposed to be "invasive" and almost impossible to eradicate, that's not bad going.
Unfortunately, I was trying to keep it alive. Ah well.
I suspect the problem is all this unseasonal rain - it hadn't been repotted since it arrived and it looked a bit waterlogged. It's now been moved to a bigger pot, packed with different compost. Hopefully, it'll recover.

So, Infest...
Aug. 20th, 2008 06:30 pm...I'm not going this year. We've already established that bit.
But a whole bunch of you are... so, what are your plans for the weekend? What are you looking forward to? What are you likely to regret on Monday morning? :-)
If they still have the mp3 jukebox in the bar, btw, then you know what to do. Play weird stuff at people who are still recovering from last night's hangover. Personally, I recommend Diamanda Galas, Johnny Cash and anything with bagpipes, but that's just me... :)

This is Not the August music post
Aug. 19th, 2008 10:05 pm...y'know, I am so out of touch with music these days. Or possibly I'm just fuzzy brained.
jambon_gris mentioned Pendulum earlier this evening and I couldn't place them at all - wasn't even sure I knew the name...
Having visited MySpace to check... yes, yes, I really do know their work. My brain finally kicked into gear about ten seconds into Propane Nightmares, doing the "and you've heard this several dozen times..." thing.
Heh.

Aug. 19th, 2008 07:56 amSomehow, I'd failed to notice that there was a new Diana Wynne Jones book out (until
lurkingcat pointed it out to me) - House of Many Ways, a sequel (of sorts) to Howl's Moving Castle...
