Befuddled and bemused

Some people I don't know - or at least people I don't think I know (I don't recognise them from their LJ info) - now have me down as a friend on LJ. This is not at all a bad thing, and is actually rather nice, but is also a new and vaguely strange experience for me. :)

So, if you'll forgive the lack of etiquette. Er... bitterlyangelic? clephan? Do I know you?

In other news, the world is grey and dreary. I'm spending most of the day curled up in front of the fire with a cup of tea, a good book and a Leonard Cohen CD playing.

The day is too dull and oppressive to do anything more constructive. Especially as the bad news seems to be racking up by the hour.

I really hate Autumn at moments like this, times when I'm stuck indoors and in the city. The artificial light is too yellow, the skies are too dark and it's cold and damp. Yechh.

You wake up to go to work - Its dark.

You work in an office with the occasional glimpse of a cold dark sky.

Then it comes to go home, and its dark.

Let alone the complete pain in the arse of starting and defrosting the car :-(

I swear I really do suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder...

Oh, I'm fine with the dark and the cold (and the snow, if there's snow). I like winter, once it properly arrives. Possibly because I don't drive. :)

Only two Lazarus Churchyard fans? I hadn't really noticed, but that's really pretty low. Oh well, I'm sure that'll go up now they're reprinting it in a couple of places. (Oh, and I still wonder how much of the plot ideas for that ended up as Transmetropolitan, btw).

Horrible, isn't it? The only thing I like about autumn is the vaguely woodsmokey smell in the air, and that's probably just carbon monoxide.

Anyway, if you do end up moving to New Zealand to escape all this, could you please send me the small blond guy who plays Iolaus on Hercules. I'll pay postage.

*waves* Hello!! Nah, I've not been around much lately - still go to Spellbound every now and then, but not this month as am laid low with flu and general exhaustion :-( Will no doubt catch up with you at some point.
