I've now got six days off work. I'm going to need them - I've just had 12 hours sleep and I'm still shattered...

I suspect a lot of this is because I'm stupid and I've tried to Do Stuff in the mornings before going to work at noon. Ho hum.

Anyway, Cruxshadows/Conspiracy/Deathboy tonight... :) Who else is going, btw?

So. I'm not terribly fond of Marvel's "Avengers Disassembled" crossover. It just seems to be killing minor characters for shock value and/or "the hell of it". Possibly as some sort of substitute for a coherent plot.

And then they advertise it with this...

Wow. I mean... how tacky is that? Especially as it's pretty clear that about half of the remaining characters - the ones with their own books and/or movies, basically - aren't going to suffer any permanent harm.

The 'funny' tone of the epitaphs doesn't help much either.

Still not impressed.

I seem to have misplaced my housemates...

Mr Scott has already been asked by the Cabinet Office to remove the website but he refused, arguing that there was "not a chance" that people could be confused.

"You couldn't look at it for more than a few seconds without realising it's a joke" he says, "after all, the spoof site is from the 'Department of Vague Paranoia' and offers advice on zombie attacks and alien invasion."

Suggestions for dealing with such circumstances include: "Negotiate using sign language, if possible. Failing that, and assuming they aren't armed with futuristic ray guns, run like hell."

And the government still thinks this site needs to be taken down because it "could confuse people" and "detracts from sensitive advice". Er... right...

Update: the site is http://www.preparingforemergencies.co.uk and the first page makes me wonder if there's some other reason the government wants it removed. Such as the "In an effort to worry the public and convince them to vote for us again next year, and because George Bush asked us to"... introduction. :)
