...and here endeth the saga. I've just e-mailed to cancel the order and request a refund. It's beyond a joke, and right now I have far better uses for that money.
It really shouldn't be a problem - aside from anything else, it was Dok who offered it as an option, last time we spoke. At the time, I chose to hang on a bit longer and see if the supplier would sort it out.
Both Dok and Katrina have been very helpful/informative throughout - the issue seems to be that their supplier's hung them out to dry on this particular style, which is hardly Pennangalan's fault (and the problem style is now marked up as "Although we are accepting orders on this style now, there may be some delays before we can ship them" on the website).
I feel for Dok. I had ideas about starting a goth net-order business when I was too ill to go out to work, and getting really bored at home. Too many stories of supplier flake-out in the "alternative" business world was the main off-putting element. It's difficult to maintain your business integrity when your suppliers smoke the money you gave them rather than buying materials.
