Yesterday was the rather creepy Doctor Who special Waters of Mars.

I can imagine small children hiding behind sofas.

It's raining today; absolutely hammering down. You could hear it on the rooftops all through the night...

Possibly not a good combination. :)

Heh.

Some of the water zombie bits were a bit rubbish (e.g. the shooting of water from the sleeves) but the general atmosphere was quite good (get one drop of water on you and you're fucked).
Some reasonable CGI, too.

Also, the Doctor needs to go power mad more often, I've had enough of PC Doctor.

It was ok for a while, but totally ruined by the huge chunks of sentimental exposition that were just boring & the rocket powered robot which was pretty dismal.

Making the Dr "aware" of changing history is best glossed over - it's just a McGuffin that he travels through time and space, not meant to be explained. We're not supposed to worry about changing histories.

Although John Carpenter got ripped off twice - Ghosts of Mars and Prince of Darkness!

The shooting of water from the sleeves bit rather reminded me of the black knight from monty python. I had some trouble getting back into it again after noticing that one... I appear to have lost the knack of steadfastly ignoring DW crap effects somewhere!
