Whitby. October. I'll be there.

Not doing the Spa this time, and probably won't be there until Friday. Heading back Monday.

Should probably think about accommodation at this point, shouldn't I?

I have booked it while on the train to Whitby at least once before, so this is relatively organised...

I plan things very differently (i.e. hardly at all) when I'm not booking for other people. Haven't done Whitby that way in a while, though. Should be fun. :)

We are likely to be doing a short one as well. Probably post-work Thursday until Sunday. Probably in a car with spare space, if that is of interest.

I'd like to stick around until Monday AM, and Friday is the problem day for holiday, so that may not work so well... :-/

Thanks for the offer, though!

Oh, are you ? Shame :(

On the plus side - [livejournal.com profile] mrph, that means I can offer you a bed for the night on Sunday night if you end up stuck for some reason :)

I've got my first teaching session after lunch on the Monday, so have to be back a few hours before that - and getting back, teaching til 6, then tidying things up doesn't appeal :(. Might be able to leave earlier on the Thursday this time though :)

I would, but I simply can't get time off work for Fri. I don't expect to be there in time for most of the Friday bands - last time this happened, I missed the night entirely due to travel hassle.

If I can find tickets closer to the time, I might buy one. But if I'm only getting the Sat, I'm not going to fuss too much about it this time. It's not a "proper" Whitby for me this time, unfortunately - it's just an excuse to see friends and maybe dance a bit.

I wasn't planning to go at all, initially - it's just that other stuff has changed and I now seem to have some spare holiday.

Hopefully, I'll be back for the full event next year.

I'm not at all surprised the Storrbeck is full - but I might pop my head round the door to say hi to Kath and Pete, as I didn't really get the chance in April.

I did one Whitby in four different B&Bs, if memory serves, sorting it out as I went along and moving each night. I think that was April 2000 - I mostly just remember sitting looking out to sea after failing to sleep at all, watching the dawn from the abbey with a bottle of Moniack mead and a bunch of friends...

...er, and also crashing and burning appallingly at the 80s night after I discovered Taurine for the first time. I'm almost looking forward to doing that night without the previous three days of sleep deprivation and booze depleting my reserves...

I may have to do Whitby entirely sober this time, actually. Just to prove a point. I think I had a wager with [livejournal.com profile] _gh0st about that, once upone a time...

Hurrah! A [livejournal.com profile] mrphless Whitby was a very alarming prospect.

Well, it wasn't alarming me that much - I was mostly just hoping it wasn't habit-forming and wondering what I'd do instead. :)

I may well take you up on that offer - give me a day or two to get my act together first, though, if that's ok?

Thanks!

At least no-one will have difficulty telling us apart this time. That said t-shirts?

Indeed. T-shirts!

I could always start growing my hair back, but it'd take a while...

*Feels envious*

I really really want to go this year. Not sure why this year of all years. It could be having been to the Wayne Hussey gig recently - the only other time I saw him was at Whitby with CountB and it's got me all nostalgic (and missing CountB horribly). I hope you have a really fantastic time.

Somewhere to sleep is usually a good idea!
