Things to be done over the next few days / weeks / months -

• Bathroom refurbishment.  Done! (finished Tues 09 Sept)
  

• Garden levelling / turf. On hold until 2009 - one of the first things to look at in Spring, though.

• Quince tree, rhubarb and gooseberries. All 'properly' planted 05/12/08. Hopefully, they'll survive the winter - the quince tree needs a stake, though.

• My room - complete refurbishment needed, starting with a new ceiling. Review lighting. To be followed by new curtains (and curtain pole), repapering walls, repainting skirting boards, new carpet, possibly a new door. Quote accepted; waiting for a confirmed start date.
  

• Small spare room - old computer desk to be disassembled and removed.  Done!
  

• Small spare room - replaster ceiling, strip and repaint walls, move light fitting, new carpet, new door. Quote from plasterer accepted, need to confirm acceptance of electrician's quote. Plumber visiting next week to quote for new radiator. Done - except for the radiator, which will be 03/01/2009.
  

• Small spare room - sand down skirting boards, repaint room. Get carpet fitted. Get curtain rail or blinds fitted.

• Large spare room - Disassemble bed, dispose of some of the old furniture and bin some junk.. Complete refurbishment needed, starting with a new ceiling. Built-in cupboards to be removed. To be followed by new curtains (and curtain pole), repapering walls, repainting skirting boards, new carpet (See if existing one can be salvaged for small room, as it's fairly new - but won't fit once cupboards removed), possibly a new door. Quote accepted; waiting for a confirmed start date.

• Hallway - plaster walls and ceiling, get rid of the 'hatch' to the dining room; improve lighting. Decide whether to clean tiles or put carpet down. Awaiting plastering quote from builder.

• Kitchen - replacement sink and washing machine installation Done! (finished Weds 10 Sept)

• Kitchen - extension. A project all ot its own.  Plans completed, Severn Trent happy and building regs application in progress, plans now need to be sent out to builders for quotations. Two visits for quotations scheduled for next week; looks like it might be done before Christmas.

• My room - repair bookcase, side of which has split and needs to be glued. Possibly move it into another room.

• Garden - planting veg. Next week's job.  Plot marked out and forked, needs to be properly dug out this weekend. May need some proper compost. Should have stuff planted for Tuesday, though. Lack of a bath is reducing my desire to get tired and sweaty while gardening. Postponed 'til next week. Didn't entirely go to plan. Let's see what I can do in Spring.
  

• Garden - planting herb garden. A little bit quantum, as half of them haven't arrived yet! Nothing to stop me planning the when and where, though... All present and correct - but all in pots at the moment. Really not sure whether it's worth planting them out - some, such as the french tarragon, probably need to be somewhere warm this winter. They're staying in pots 'til Spring.

• Garden - painting the fence. To be co-ordinated with my neighbours.

• Garden - front garden flowerbeds. Need to plan something for next year. Roses and bulbs. Bulbs now purchased, just need to be planted. Roses need a little more thought...

• Garden - remove the accumulated junk from patio and outbuildings.

• Secure the garage - and ensure it's really waterproof.

• Small bedroom - remove and rehouse bedside cabinet. Done! (finished Thurs 11 Sept)

• Back bedroom - subdue the shoggoth.

• Front garden - replace paving, fix wall and clean/replace rusty metalwork.

• Fit a doorbell.
