i read probably 1/8th of that book in various trips to barnes and noble, but i never purchased it. i really liked what i read, but is the book in its entirety worthy of purchase?

I don't think it's his best - the plot and characters are good, but the setting limits his scope for the sort of crazy ideas that made Diamond Age and Snow Crash work.

I enjoyed it an awful lot, though, and it's got lots of twists and turns. There's a prequel of sorts, "Quicksilver", due out in a month or two.
