Hmm. Davros. That's going to screw up the reboot continuity.

Prior to series 27 in 2005, there were two factions of Dalek.
The original Daleks were the first Daleks created by Davros but were sufficiently mutated to consider themselves a separate race- and they're somewhat fascistic about their separate purity. They rebelled against their creator and are known as "renegade" Daleks.
"Imperial Daleks" were subsequently created by Davros using dead humans which were not significantly mutated.
The two factions slugged it out for a while. Both sides had various leaders under various names such as Emperor, Dalek Supreme, Black Dalek and so forth. Result was inconclusive.
After the 2005 reboot, the only surviving dalek created yet another breed, and appointed himself Emperor. These were similar to the original "Renegade" Daleks. These got wiped out in the Battle of Canary Wharf and subsequent encounters; the only remaining survivor is a Dalek named Caan.
If Davros arrives, he'll presumably either create or bring along some Imperial Daleks.
It will be extremely interesting to see whether Caan and the Imperial daleks get along. As a "renegade", Caan shouldn't accept the Imperial daleks as sufficiently pure, but then Caan, as a member of the Cult of Skaro, was specifically bred to think outside the box.
Errm... We don't know which faction Caan & the canary wharf Daleks were, they were survivors from the time war, nothing to do with the Dalek Emperor & the daleks from the end of season one.
But yeah, Daleks turn up in force after having been wiped out for the n millionth time. *Yawn*. It's getting to the point where we've got to wonder if any of them actually got killed during the time war....
