Both the graphical novel and the film are very much in my mind at the moment.

I forsee a future (I hope one that never comes to pass), when copies of that are banned and passed underground...

The house of Lords can be overcome using the Parliament Acts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parliament_Act). And Labour want to basically make the Lords unable to stop legislation.

Why should we be surprised? Labout tried to get an Enabling Act through parliament:
