Finally watched the last two episodes of Life on Mars.

That... was an interesting finish.

I like it.

This is why it's best to download FLAC, APE or SHN lossless formats:-)

Yes, a colleague at work got a cheap 20 quid mp3 player from ebay that looks like an ipod - it's diabolically bad, and only had 2Gig of RAM instead of the advertised 4GB.

I have to admit, I've not come across many SHNs - most of the bootleg (ROIO) sites I've used are in FLAC or APE.

Indeed. The great dime... currently got a couple of things coming down from that myself! I believe they're quite strict with stuff that's been released and have a list of bands that do not approve.

I can't believe bands themselves aren't exploiting the market for live concerts by using this technology themselves and charging a fee for FLAC or APE downloads.

the quality of videos one can access via bittorrent is quite acceptable for casual viewing of shows, plus you can also get HD res videos from the states. that and the bbc is going to be launching their iPlayer service in the next few months. i still buy cds and dvds for the quality and extra features, but i simply have a policy of not spending money on something unless i know i'm actually going to like it.

i have the majority of my CD collection encoded in FLAC, totalling 60Gb. unfortunatly i can't rip the rest yet due to the same HDD space issue ;)
