I've just updated my interests list to add beckerovka and slivovica. This is all /mel/'s fault - for introducing me to the dreadful stuff, a long time ago, and then for providing a spelling so I could finally add them as interests. Scarily, nobody else on LJ has done so...

I have a medecine bottle full of AJ's Slovene girlfriend's grandfather's farm-made slivovic in the freezer.

It is delicious. And conservative estimates reckon that it's in the region of 75-80% alkyhol. After one shot, your head goes numb! :-)

I've not (knowingly) tried the homebrew, just the stuff that Mel's brought back from Slovakia. Very nice, just don't let it touch the sides of your throat... :)
