Started well. Could have been better, could have been worse - it looked like one scene was cut and I've got some quibbles with the finish (and a couple of the RTD touches)...

...but definitely could have been worse

Edit: RTD is quoted as saying that the series end on a "colossal cliffhanger. It's so huge I can't describe it. I hope they can get it on film". Hmm. Did he write the same episode I just watched, then?

Not bad...but what happened to the Cybermen that were constructed on "our" side of the void? Surely they wouldn't have been steeped in void energy and would therefore not be sucked in?

That could be a slight cliffhanger, I suppose...as would be the single Dalek that escaped. Not exactly "colossal" though.

Yeah, I'd considered that too. I've assumed it's deliberate, so filed it - along with the single remaining Dalek - under "opportunities for sequels".

Didn't like the giant hoover effect, though. The 'ghosts' didn't arrive that way - they just phased in. So why should they be 'sucked up' like that? Sure, keep the wind tunnel effect - but don't have every Dalek in London sucked in.

Other pet hates were the tear of oil and the scene they seem to have chopped - the one between the doctor waving the white flag and the joint attack...

Ah, technically though, the portable cyberman conversion device will have been brought through the void (and thus the materials used to create the new cybermen would have been steeped in void energy) - bet there are some Cybermen next series despite this though.
I did end up wondering why more of them didn't punch through the walls into the vortex, given the speeds that the ones from Australia would have been travelling by the time they arrived ;)

I think they were sucked up because the Doctor opened a portal into the void, not through it. Or something like that.

Anyway, yeah, the oil tear was a bit crap. On the other hand, I thought the reveal of what the genesis ark was - a tardis with millions of daleks in was a great moment.

In all, I thought it was a far better series ending than last year.

Thought it was sentimental garbage. Fanwank of the highest order. Dumb story & terrible pacing. Pretty much stopped watching when they had the dumb "running together with music" cliche in the cellar.

Was that that bit with the two of them in the corridor bit? I was hoping for crossfire ;)

I'm hoping a Bus hits RTD. And Tennant. And Billie Piper. Adn the actor who plays her Mum...

I was just relieved that it wasn't in the same league as the last cyberman two parter :)

(though there was that overly long bit nearer the end with Jackie in the corridor where I wondered if I was actually meant to be caring about it... :O) )

Yes, I was a little disappointed with that. After all, the Cybermen did for Adric

True, and Adric was far more likable.

Pah. These things aren't *real* Cybermen anyway. Just flashy proto-cybermen wannabes.

I so wanted the last dalek to ping off of rose and suck her through to the void.
For me, it should have ended there with the Doctor call Rose (after Pete teleports in and takes her back to the other universe), would have saved the blubbery stuff as well.

And Catherine Tate...WTF!!!

Really liked the DalekvsCyberman conversation though. Funny as hell :)

Oh aye that was great fun, though partway through I had an overwhelming urge to googlewar it to see which one would win ;)

So, so typical of this generation of Doctor Who. A decent setup steadily squandered and with added elements of wankery. And some sentimental shit.

It wasn't terrible compared to recent episodes but that says more about how low this series has set the bar than about the episode itself.
