It's payday. So, as ever, the money is burning a hole in my pocket. Accordingly, I'm going back and buying some of the many things I'd looked at and wailed "I can't afford this!" about last month.

Like CDs. And boots. Especially boots. I've been putting off buying a new pair for years now - my old pair have been re-soled thrice, had the toes fixed/reinforced once, and more recently been superglued on several occasions. They're now very, very dead - a finger-sized hole on the underside of one toe, and nothing left to reattach the (still fairly presentable) soles too.

So I've bought a couple of new pairs - these and, more notably/expensively, these. Looks like I'll finally be attempting, if not mastering, the fine art of dancing in Smegg boots...

It's funny (and probably very peculiarly goth), but buying boots is much more An Event (and seems more style-defining) than buying trousers, say, or a new top. But maybe that's just because most people own less boots than trousers, so it's a rarer event...? Mmm. Maybe.

Booooooots!!!

I think the facial scraggle may stay for a little longer... if only 'til Bicon (so that if it all goes wrong, I can be incognito afterwards :). Then again, maybe not - I'm starting to conclude that moustache maintenance is an irksome thing, and I'm really not sure I can be bothered with it.

So far, third party opinion is divided.

Most of the "it looks pretty good" comments have come from assorted bears I know, which sort o' figures. I didn't really expect anyone to like it anyway. :)

And my favourite negative comment to date is (from memory): "Morph, as you know, I really don't like you. However, I feel I ought to warn you that you now have some sort of fungus consuming your chin. Do something about it, before it's too late".

[I'm sure a couple of people reading this can guess exactly who said that, too... ;-)]

Which CDs did you buy?

Er... it was almost three years ago, I can't remember! Although it was probably a batch from MNS, so something like State of the Union or L'ame Immortelle seems likely...

Er, thanks for trying to remember. Must engage brain before asking people trivial questions about things they did three years ago. :-) So, er, have you bought any CDs recently?
