I saw it earlier. It appears that Alan Moore's character driven study of Madness and Transformation has been dropped for a zeitgeist feel of it's you vs the govt. An underlying metaphor but not the whole story. In the graphic novel I see a series of introverts go through their own private traumas and it is V's role to make evie see the bigger picture and then the wider London public see the bigger picture.

I wonder if the Wachowskis and Joel Silver have those ideas and blown them up to Hollywood proportions, as is natural and proper for them.

I've never actually read the graphic novel. Probably a stupid question, but is it as good as it's hyped up to be?

It's bleak and character-driven. The colours are intentionally subdued, there are no thought bubbles or sound effects and it's not indended to leap off the page at you. It's also something that - due to the publisher going under - took over ten years to complete (so the last third is really very different from the start).

But yes, it's very good. As good as the hype? I'm not sure. But definitely worth a read.

The Fillum that caused Alan Moore to chnage his genial stance on it`s nowt to do with me, thanks for the cheque, but really, it`s nowt to do with me, I do comics not films. And then caused him to offer DC outside for the second time, effectively, if not curtailing his Americas Best Comics line, certainly ensuring that it would continue as a company owned property milking his characters whilst he seethes on the sidelines from Northampton.

God, I love Alan Moore.

IMO, yep. I didn't get around to reading either until the last year or so, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

Looks fantastic. The imagery is great. Cast seems promising. Seems a little heavy on the action though. The action sequences in the book were near incidental and certainly not to be dwelled upon. I fear that the depth and the suspense of the story will be overshadowed by the flying knives. :/
