This time, the weekend started on Friday. I spent the day wandering around the house, fretting, as the Mercia Gas folks installed my new back boiler and gas fire. I'm pleased to announce that my house is now officially warm. I'm less pleased at the cost - £1835. Eeek. I suspect a couple of this year's trips abroad are about to be ditched. :-(

Saturday started with a phone call from [livejournal.com profile] mhw - I dashed downstairs half dressed to answer it, and was halfway through the call before I realised that I wasn't dead of hypothermia. I like having working heating. This was followed by a nice laid-back Saturday lunch with [livejournal.com profile] mhw, [livejournal.com profile] stgpcm and Jon, and unexpectedly ran into [livejournal.com profile] matthewp, too. [livejournal.com profile] imago didn't make it down to Cov due to illness, alas, but the rest of us (sans Jon) ended up sitting around and chatting for most of the evening.

Sunday morning started with a phone call, too - this time from [livejournal.com profile] coracaskia, down in London and sounding very tired and bleary. Neither of us was exactly awake, so it wasn't the most coherent conversation, but she'd (sensibly) decided that, in the circumstances, sleep was a much better idea than going to a goth event. Which meant that I had an empty house ([livejournal.com profile] dmh had also dropped out, due to exhaustion and general crapness... :-). After thinking about this for a second or two, I decided this meant that I now had no reason to be conscious on a Sunday morning, and promptly went back to bed 'til noon. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Naturally, I overslept, so I sprang out of bed in a panic at 12:50, got dressed, grabbed a taxi and headed for lunch at the WF. Which is when things started to get surreal.
