Whereas currently, one presumes, Georgia law only endorses opposite-sex "pedophilic" marriages? That 50-year-old man can only marry a 16-year-old (and in some cases younger) girl? Ah. That's all right, then...

Actually, no, I don't think he makes the comparison at all. As with most of these things, he (consciously or otherwise) compares the 'best' of heterosexual marriage to the 'worst' of homosexual marriage. I'm sure that helps to keep things neatly categorised in his brain, without any pesky shades of grey.
