One for the Bristol and Bath folks... (friend of a friend in need of advice)

snow_leopard's friend sleep_er has just got a job in Bath, but is having housing woes and looking for some hints on agencies with brains, where (and where not) to live, etc.

His post on this is here, and it sounds as if any advice would be much appreciated.

I know next to nothing about housing in Bath, but I understand that while some of the rental houses in the city are pretty grotty, there's no real areas to avoid in the city itself. Some of the outlying villages though are lovely dens of inbreeding and heroin use!

I do know that he really does not want to commute from Bristol to Bath! It's either interminably slow on the road or excessively expensive by train. And Temple Meads is nowhere near the city centre.

I'll attempt to ring one of my friends in Bath to see if she has any advice.

Have asked my brother who lives in Bath and he was quite loquacious on the subject of reasons to avoid Roman City and Belvoir letting agents.
