I've got a bleak dose of Whitby/goth nostalgia creeping up on me - I blame the bug and the weather, but that doesn't entirely help.
I miss the days when Manc/Ox/Cam/Cov/Brum/Soton goths seemed almost tribal, when ducks, courgettes and T-shirt slogans were the order of the day.
I miss the days when I could buy Manuskript CDs in a music shop in central Coventry, and you'd see at least half a dozen Coventry people on the train to/from any Birmingham gig.
[For that matter, I miss the days when there were regular Birmingham gigs, with a decent attendance and a great atmosphere to 'em - yes, there were some stinkers too, but...]
I miss the days when people actually danced in the Whitby Spa, damnit.

Date: 2003-11-08 11:37 am (UTC)As for after the bands... er... the only night I was there that long this time was for AAE, and then the place promptly closed. Although the early departures have been more because of worries over B&B keys and evaporating CovGoths than anything else, so they may not apply next time...
