And just what message is that going to send to the Middle East, I wonder? Yes, there should also be condemnation of the attacks on Israel. But there have already been several resolutions covering that - the issue for this one was whether or not Israel should be able to expel (or assassinate) someone else's democratically elected leader, however unpalatable they may find him.

Frankly, I can't see the point. About 80% of the population voted him in - so pretending that he's the one person behind it all is just stupid (then again, weren't we also told that Saddam was the source of the problem, and that when he stopped paying 'pensions' to the families of suicide bombers, the suicide bombings would stop? Or are we supposed to forget that claim now it's been proven false?).

Worth noting that the US was the only country to oppose the resolution, too.
