That rocked. That seriously rocked. Six good bands (advertised line-up minus Dance On Glass, who dropped out on Saturday...) in a variety of styles, but all seeming really happy to be playing the UK and putting on their best show for the audience.

A remarkably Convergence-like hotel full of people in black, with clumps of goths drinking in the lobby until the not so early hours.

Despite the scary-looking food prices, drink was cheap (£1.50 for a bottle of cider) - and the "£3.95 sandwich" turned out to be a hefty round of 'em, accompanied by a side salad and crisps (if you're a Coventry person, think of the Inspire snackfood and you're on the right track).

It wasn't packed, which is a shame, but I suspect that it'll be getting glowing praise from pretty much everyone who went - which should lure a few more people along next year. There deserves to be a next year (and I hope the organisers didn't get too financially burned by this one). And the hotel seemed to like the extra business too, so...

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] polidori, too, for providing much-needed Saturday crashspace at short notice.

Anyway, I'm now off to see IMMI (again) and Conspiracy t the Mercat tonight, so a longer write-up will have to wait.

Yup. Which, to be brutally honest, is why I was relieved when I heard they were the ones who'd dropped out - I still want to see them, but I'm fairly sure that won't be too difficult if I put my mind to it (They've been supporting AAE recently, after all).

Whereas going to Florida for Butterfly Messiah or Tokyo for Psydoll might be a bit trickier!
