WGW in brief
Apr. 14th, 2003 07:54 pmMight post more about this later, might not.
Lost: One cuddly toy snake (about 4', olive green, last seen in the Spa on Saturday).
Broken: One pair of trousers, which managed to lose a buckle when they collided with some furniture on Sunday night.
Alcohol: In abundance. New improved Red, many pints of Strongarm, some gorgeous red wine and assorted single malts. Some lovely stuff from
giolla, as usual. Oh, and tea. Much tea.
Good food: Great breakfasts, as usual. A gorgeous lunch at the White Horse & Griffin (chicken and banana soup, followed by a hazelnut and wood pigeon salad). Cajun chicken, seafood pie and other things at the Resolution.
Bad food: a chicken kebab from Bits'n'pizzas. Chilli sauce is not supposed to look quite like that. It's certainly not supposed to taste like that. Gah.
Good¦Bad Bands: Yes, there were bands. The only ones I didn't at least vaguely like were Torsohorse (not my thing but competent) and Deadfilmstar (again, not my thing. Third time I've seen them, and the cover versions still grate). The other three Friday bands kicked serious arse.
Vinyl: the 12" double single of Shriekback's Nemesis, found on
matthewnorth's stall.
CDs: bought four (the new Psychophile and GoL releases, plus replacements for WF stuff nicked last year). Shamelessly blagged a few more. :)
Clothes: What, mine? Nothing terribly new, as there was no great clothes shopping spree this year. I didn't make a huge effort to dress up - although the "kilt" (tartan skirt, more like...) and frilly shirt got an outing.
Seagulls: Too many, and too loud.
Trauma: Not directly, but far too much of it, for far too many people I know. Hope it all works out ok.
Surprises:
sartori666 and
lucy_pointycat both think I'm sweet and innocent. No, really.
November: Oh yes. Already booked.

Date: 2003-04-16 03:41 pm (UTC)The new Rome Burns promo (which has been sitting in the CD player for a while - I'll probably ramble about it later), the Scary Bitches album, the new Synthetic album, and something called "Temple of Secrets" by some bunch called Corrosion... :)
Plus a few more via Meltdown - which I've not even looked at yet, although I think there's the new Awakening 'best of' album in there.
