Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats for the Bush & Blair rollercoaster ride. Thrills, chills, mighy explosions, needless fuck-ups on a scale that may haunt the world for many decades.

Some good might come out of this. But if it does, it's not going to be from the sudden benevolence of our leaders - it's going to be because they've been bullied into it. Perhaps the world can't talk them out of their glorious little war, but a little nagging might encourage them to really help build a free Iraq afterwards.

We'll see. I still won't shed any tears if Tony gets the boot over this, though - and I'm still praying that Dubya's going to be a one-term wonder.

Sadly...

... looking at it is rather difficult. Afghanistan more or less slithered out of the headlines, and into CNN obscurity, as soon as the bombs stopped falling. After all, it had been liberated, so was All Right Now; aftermath is rarely newsworthy.

I doubt the balls-up would be much altered if there were better press coverage, mind.
