I now have a new computer. Update: The new computer's now named Euryale. The next one's probably going to be Stheno.

And also a large, loud, not-terribly-happy dog (Boxer, from the look of it - but I'm never too sure about breeds, so I could be wrong). I don't remember ordering one of those.

The daft thing is stuck in my garden, and seems unable to get out again. Hmmm.

Do you not have a super-soaker?

Failing that, it should be a lot more pleasant with a little soy sauce, some thai fish sauce, and ginger and kafir. :-)

So what is the computers name?
Have you named the boxer yet?

The computer is likely to be called Yura. Or Parnel.

As for the dog... on closer inspection, it seems to be a Mastiff. With a certain amount of scar tissue. If it hangs around much longer it might graduate from "Hey you" to Detritus. Or Vandemar.

Does Coventry not have a dog warden who will take it away?

Yes, but I was betting it belonged to a near-neighbour and had found a weak bit of fence. So calling a warden seemed likely to lead to needless hassle.

Anyway, either's the great slobbering thing's gone home now, or someone rescued him while I was distracted by the PC delivery (or, possibly, he's being very quiet in the coalshed...).

Damn. I'd have had him. Mastiffs are wonderful! (Or rather, I'd have him but I feel the cat would protest too much)
