Saturday's been very pleasant, on the whole. Still having trouble getting through to the heating company who are meant to be fixing my boiler, but I've dusted off the electric heater that I used last year, so I'm not freezing to death while I wait for them. The lack of hot water is a little irksome, though.

[livejournal.com profile] mrbear is also being incommunicado, as his mobile appears to be munged again (and I don't think I have his landline number...). Ho hum.

Oh, and Slimelight gets profiled in this week's Guardian club guide, which was entertaining (and not quite as off-the-mark as their last piece on goth.

High point of the day, though, was a rather nice lunch in Inspire - the first time I've seen anyone I know, aside from [livejournal.com profile] beaupepys, since Monday, and definitely my first touch o' alcohol since Whitby. As well as [livejournal.com profile] _gh0st_, [livejournal.com profile] mhw and [livejournal.com profile] stgpcm, [livejournal.com profile] mistdog and [livejournal.com profile] zarbi turned up, which was nice as I've not seen 'em in ages.

It did mean I was the only person at the table without a beard, though... :-)

General views of Inspire's food/prices/atmosphere seemed to be positive, so maybe we can turn Saturday lunch into a semi-regular event again? Aside from the Monday RPG, it's the only time I actually seem to see Coventry people these days...

Well, there goes the coffee. The keyboard should live.

I've just (finally) listened to the Radio 1 "beyond the pale" documentary. I was expecting Dishmop, [livejournal.com profile] scathe, [livejournal.com profile] lee_chaos, Dave Exile, Paul H and a few others. Marc Elston, however, was something of a surprise.

Good documentary. So cybergoth is what happened when someone mixed Italian techno-fans, goth and anime, then? Explains a lot. :)

So, anyone going to C9? For that matter, anyone going to C9 and interested in a roomshare?

Since I'm not sure what my work situation's going to be, anything that brings down the cost per night has to be a good thing. Assuming that I'm going.

But then I'm stupid, so it's fairly safe to assume that I'll be going. Even if the bands (still tbc) are dreadful.
