Polltime
If you went crazy and decided to go on a mass killing spree, what song would you be listening to as you were pumping lead/tearing apart/stabbing your victims?
White Zombie, More human than Human is probably just the thing for a shooting spree:
For something a little more "up close and personal", it's really got to be PTP's Rubber glove Seduction
Do you have a song that you can listen to that puts you in a better mood than you were in prior to listening to the song?
Oysterband, When I'm Up-
Also All About Eve's Share It with Me:
What song is your "guilty pleasure"?
Queen, Hammer to Fall, and also Marillion, Incommunicado
Is there a song/songs that made you cry? What was it/were they?
When I was young, Puff The Magic Dragon. These days, I can't think of anything.
Name an artist you like that would surprise people who think they know you.
Mmm, tricky question. My music collection holds no real secrets. Madness, possibly - or The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Is there a song you could never get sick of?
Lots of them. Three of four Subway To Sally tracks, Killing Miranda's Discotheque Necronomicon, a few Thompson Twins and Tears For Fears songs⦠the list goes on.
Is there a song or band that you won't listen to because of the emotional turmoil that you're reminded of that surrounded you when you did listen to that song or band?
P.J. Harvey, Oh My Lover. Eight years on and I still hate it.
Describe one memory you have (off the top of your head) that surrounds a particular song, which will immediately pop into your head when you hear it, and name the song too.
Sidestepping the question a little - blame Hollywood for this one - Nena's 99 Red Balloons always makes me think of the scene it accompanies in Grosse Point Blank.
Name one CD you regret buying. Or owning.
The second Ruby Blue album, Almost Naked. Dull, bland, no redeeming features whatsoever - whereas the first album was excellent.
Last but not least - Slap down lyrics from ONE song that would best describe you and/or your feelings in general (don't take a lot of time to think about it, it can just be how you're feeling right now). Note who it's by, what song, and album.
Leonard Cohen, There is a War, from New Skin for the Old Ceremony.
White Zombie, More human than Human is probably just the thing for a shooting spree:
- Yeah, I Am The Astro-creep,
A Demolition Style Hell American Freak - Yeah
I Am The Crawling Dead,
A Phantom In A Box, Shadow In Your Head - Say
Acid Suicide - Freedom Of The Blast,
Read The Fucker Lies - Yeah
Scratch Off The Broken Skin,
Tear Into My Heart,
Make Me Do It Again
For something a little more "up close and personal", it's really got to be PTP's Rubber glove Seduction
- Tick Tick Tock I am the kitchen clock
Tick Tick Tock This is my wife
Tick Tick Tock I am the kitchen clock
Tick Tick Tock This is my KNIFE!
You know, you know, I'm not a violent guy
But when driven, I will react...
Oysterband, When I'm Up-
- You know the world could be our oyster,
You just put your trust in me,
Cause we'll keep the good times rolling
Wait and see, wait and see....oh wait and see!
Also All About Eve's Share It with Me:
- Madeleine hears the bohemians say
She's selfish and crazy
Which isn't so far from the truth,
She's the essence of youth,
The flower you place on eternity's grave.
The romantic who isn't afraid
Of the beat of her heart,
She raises a glass to your art
And when she gets drunk she says...
Queen, Hammer to Fall, and also Marillion, Incommunicado

- There is a war between the rich and poor,
a war between the man and the woman.
There is a war between the ones who say there is a war
and the ones who say there isn't.
Leonard Cohen, There is a War, from New Skin for the Old Ceremony.

Date: 2002-11-21 11:39 pm (UTC)Killing spree - would have to be folk music as nothing in any other area of music is sick or violent enough - maybe Matty Groves (which has been covered by so many folk bands).
Song that made me cry - the first time I heard it I cried to "This Day" by Holly Tomas
Better Mood - well I have taken to playing Cruxshadows "Rain" and T'Pau "This girl Aint For Sale" before going out as for no obvious reason they are both songs that make me bouncy and happy. When I am depressed the album "Ocean Machine" by Devin Townsend goes on as it mellows me out.
Name an artist you like that would surprise people who think they know you Hmm, most people have gathered I am a closet Folk fan. Possibly T'pau!!!
