If someone is going to take your child, they'll take it, I really don't think the fact they've got a chip in their arm is going to stop them.
besides which in this particular instance, the whole world knows where the chip's going to go. so all they need is a sharp knife, really.

That, and if she does get kidnapped, and mouths off to the kidnapper about having the chip, she will be a dead body in a ditch within 15 minutes, whether or not that is what the kidnappers originally had in mind.

When I read the headline I thought it was because she's a kid who keeps running away and getting in trouble and it was a last-ditch attempt to keep tabs on her.

The Duvals are always in the local paper writing about how "I think its terrible how pedophiles are allowed to walk the streets all the time" and "Gays must stopped from going near our children and brainwashing them...it's only a matter of time."

Basically they are alarmist, narrow-minded and, well, from Reading really. They are the crows that mark the albino down for the flock to kill. I strongly suggest having both children shot before they reach maturity, in order that their genes are spread no further.

How would you recharge it? Would you plug it when the kid is asleep? What would happen if the kid wet the bed? BBZZZZZZTTTT!

How about a system like the watches which recharge with movement. Parent shouting "Keep waving the arm the signals weak!" or something like that.

Why not chip the adult population too?
Then when a kid is abducted, you look at who's with them and you have an instant shortlist of folks to question. Hey - if you keep logs you could analyse it too.

It would help with so many crimes.

And then when it's recognised as wrong that hundreds of foreigners are being interned in camps which can be and are easily burned down with the people locked inside, anyone who intends to change the situation can be tracked down from information given by a government agent inside the group/a captured group member, using the signal from their chip, and shot/put in the same camp.
Whereas now if the government were to become (more) Machiavellian, one could at least hide fairly well in the average crowded street if one needed to.
