Well, they'll make a change from the usual bands I see doing non-London gigs. Plus it's cheap and it's close - and it's an excuse to go to the Mercat and perk at people. The support should be interesting, too.
To be honest, the only Malaise song I know is "Walking Through The Wonderland", which was a minor club hits a few years back. If I had the choice, I'd rather see Elusive, but they're not playing Birmingham and Malaise are, so...
Malaise are one of those, not too bad on CD-should never be alowed to play live, bands. Then again it's probably been 3 years since I saw them last, so perhaps they've learned not to suck.
Last time I spoke to Ian Mann he said he wasn't putting on any more gigs at the Mercat - has he had a change of heart or is this nothing to do with him?
It was about a week or two before the Dreamies gig - he was quitting after the Dream Disciples because of consistently crap turnout and huge financial loss over the years.
Fair play to him for having a change of heart though - there aren't many people that continue to promote things for the goffs despite constant bitching and moaning *ahem*.
