Plumbers and penicillin-induced exhaustion mean that I'm here, not in London watching fine bands. This is not good. So here's a quiz, instead... ;-(

1. Who's your favorite fictional character?

I'm not entirely sure. Samuel Vimes (Pratchett) is fairly high up the list, though. So are Mike Carey's version of Lucifer and Mr Grewgious(sp?) from Edwin Drood. Veering back to comics, I've got definite soft spots for King Mob (Invisibles) and Peter St John (Zenith), too.

2. Do you have a "nightmare" neighbour?

No, they're really pleasant. I've had nightmare housemates, though. I've probably been one myself, too.

3. What do you wish people talked more about?

Nothing in particular. I just wish they'd listen, and that they'd assume other people listen, too. I get very frustrated when people repeat the same thing three or four times in a short conversation, just to "make sure that it sinks in". I really don't think it works that way. Just say it, accept that it's been said and acknowledged, then move the conversation on from there.

4. Are you a good loser or a bad loser?

A very bad loser. I always want to know exactly why I lost, too.

5. If you could live out the life of one animal, which would it be?

Some sort of bird. Flight is very tempting. It'd be quite fun to be a hummingbird, or a puffin.

6. What is your favorite Science Fiction movie?

At the moment? Brazil.

7. If you could create a future free from disease, hunger OR war - which one would you choose?

Disease.

8. Do you cuddle with your SO after sex, or just go to sleep?

Cuddle.

9. When was the last time you attended religious service?

My cousin Yvonne's wedding, a year or two back.

10. If you could 'remove' one country from the planet, which one would it be?

Can we lose the Vatican but keep the pretty architecture? ;-)

11. What music act would you most like to see do a reunion tour/album?

I would've said Visage, or Altered Images. But it seems that they are, as part of the "Hear and Now" thing, and I'm now dreading what the 2002 version will sound like. Be careful what you wish for...

12. Should SUV drivers be forced to pay higher taxes on their vehicles?
13. If you could create a driver's license test, what would the requirements be?

I don't drive, don't ask me...

I can so see you as King Mob, actually. Just lose the hair... :)

So James has been getting invisible piercings, then? ;)

This concept worries me - I don't quite see the similarity. If I cut all my hair off I suspect I'd be more Spider Jerusalem than King Mob. But probably lacking in Filthy Assistants. *sigh*

*grin* I hope this doesn't shock you (*too* much :>) but I think you'd make a wonderful V (as in V for Vendetta).

Alan Moore has a lot to answer for

But yes, I suppose I can see that. Ruthless, manipulative and just a tiny bit pretentious (but all in the name of a greater good), hmm? :-)

I wish I thought you were joking, but this one must have just passed me by. Visage? Visage? Is Steve going to stammer Fade To Grey then, while Billy Currie storms off in a huff because nobody believes he wrote the song?
The horror.

It's for this year's Christmas tour, allegedly - iirc the ads were in the Guardian, or some such place. I'd agree that Visage is the worrying bit, as if Clare Grogan can still carry a tune, Altered Images should be fine...

Of course, I've now realised that neither of these bands is really top of my comeback wishlist (although they're both close). 'Cos more than either of them, I want Shriekback back.

There's always Naked Apes and Pondlife, though I have to admit I very seldom listen to it.

True, but that's not the "classic" line-up, if I remember rightly. The get-together in Belgium last year was, though, which fills me with a little more hope for the future. Especially in light of this - "I think we are looking at Shriekback's darkest ever album by the way", hmm? Oh, good... :-)
