An admission:

I really like the DLR, especially when compared to the London underground.

And I take a special childish joy in (sometimes) being able to sit at the very front of the train, enjoying the view.

It's a bit like being on the world's mildest rollercoaster. :)

I feel like that about the front seat on the DLR too! Then again, I always lunge for the "driving" seat on the top deck of double-decker buses, too :)

I think everyone likes sitting at the front of the DLR. You can pretend you're driving. ;-)

The Tyneside Metro had trains with a front window years before the DLR did; also every Metro station is wheelchair accessible, which I believe the DLR has also caught up with, but the tube never will.

I've only ever been on the DLR twice and yeah, it's really cool.
