Home from Leipzig. Tired but rather happy.

I've just binned my suitcase. Partly because the wheels had started squeaking in an intensely irritating way, partly because it was getting a bit battered... and mostly because the huge bag of chocolate covered coffee beans inside it had exploded, coating everything with sticky half-melted chocolate...

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] chimera_s, it looks like you won't get those beans. :-/

On the plus side, if that had happened on my way to WGT, it would have been really awkward. As it is, all of the chocolate-coated gothgear needed washing anyway. :)

Full write-up - including quote file and pictures - to follow a little later...

When we got back from NY the staff at Bristol airport left our luggage outside in the rain for an hour. My very cheap suitcase is not very waterproof.

And to think everybody laughed at me when I was packing in TO because of how many plastic bags I wrapped all of my brand new books in.

The intention had been to protect them from shampoo/nail varnish remover explosion, etc.

The take-home lesson is you can't seal up stuff too tightly in your suitcase.

Glad you made it home unscathed.

I'm a bit concerned your first thought wasn't to throw a suitcase chocolate naked licking contest with Eskil (from Covenant) Dj'ing.

I'm more than a bit concerned that your first thought was! :-)

...although... now that you mention it... another great opportunity lost. Woe is me! :)

Sorry to Hear about that. To be Honest if we'd met up earlier - and I'd gotten the beans I prob would have eaten a fair chunk of them before the end of the festival (I could have really done with a constant supply of caffine) - in which case I could have ended up doing a John Hurt impersonation on the flight back.

Squeak-boy [livejournal.com profile] mrph is no more!
All hail the new, super-silent [livejournal.com profile] mrph variant. Ideal for sneaking places for covert goth-dom.

If you squeeze him hard enough I'm sure he'll still squeak. Have [livejournal.com profile] keris set up a squeak experimentation plan for Infest UK right away.
