Listening to The Hours again.

Might have mentioned this before, but I always feel there's something very (early) Triffids about Narcissus Road (the song, not the album as a whole) and a couple of the other tracks...

I might have to take a listen then. I really like the Triffids. One of those bands that I really got hooked on during my time in Australia.

Calenture's a favourite album of mine from years back - Kelly's Blues & Jerdacuttup Man, in particular.

Blame my friend Mary, who introduced me to them years back. Unfortunately, someone's since nicked my copy of Born, Sandy, Devotional.

As noted, I wouldn't say the whole album is Triffidesque, but a couple of tracks are. And the rest are also pretty good, in an indie rock kinda way...

Calenture is one of those albums that really doesn't have any weak tracks.

Sure "Bury Me Deep in Love" is the only song that got airplay. But I love the whole album.

I really need to find another copy. All I have is a cassette copied off the CD from back in '88.

Almost all my good music from that era is still in that format. I did work experience in a record store during year 12. Being an exchange student in the program I was in, they couldnt pay me. But they wanted to keep me on. So they owner said I could make copies of a few CDs a week in exchange for working a few hours on weekends after that week was over.

Okay okay, some of it isn't GOOD. It's just fun. Painters & Dockers are just ... fun.
