Yes, I've missed a few of these. Still, here we go...

Russell T. Davies writing. Another Slitheen story. Deus ex machina ending. Despite myself, though, I really quite enjoyed that one.

Margaret Blaine was an interesting villain - not a terribly effective one, but then she didn't need to be. This wasn't about her plot to nuke Cardiff - it was about what they should do with her once that got derailed. And that worked.

Basically, this was a personal angst tale. Margaret and the Doctor. Mickey and Rose. And while RTD is proving to be the weakest writer on the series so far (even if more generally he's good as a guiding force for the series as a whole...), he can write angst.

Could have done without the surfboard, could have done without the egg. And it feels like we did do without Jack, who spent most of the episode doing nothing onscreen (or stuck under a console). But still, it worked. And the Slitheen fart jokes were banished to the first few minutes...

Was anyone else expecting screaming Gelth to come pouring out of the reopened rift? Or expecting them to keep Margaret/Blon as a villain for a little longer?

Raxacoricofallapatorius. 'Nuff said.

...looks like the TARDIS is visiting other worlds, it's just that the BBC budget won't let us see them. Bah.

Bad Wolf trailer. Dear god no. Was expecting something more... less... well, was expecting something that didn't look tacky as hell, let's put it that way. And the 'Bad Wolf' thing itself just doesn't fit the Daleks. Too subtle. If anyone's deliberately stalking the Doctor that way it should be someone like the Valeyard, or Fenric, or something of that ilk. Manipulative, wily, able to twist time.

I can't help thinking that they only showed the Daleks at the end of the trailer because otherwise we'd all have decided not to watch next week, purely based on how awful the rest of it looked...

I'm sure it isn't the Daleks. I have heard a couple of interesting theories. It is something that has to shape either reality or minds so that the 'Bad Wolf' phrase keeps re-appearing around the Doctor.

Hmmm.... I think we have been given a strong hint, especially in the current episode.
