April 13th - April 15th, 2006.

That's the dates for Convergence (New Orleans). What are the odds that it's also the date for something else I want to attend?

Do we have confirmed dates for Dark City or Beyond the Veil 2006 yet? I'm hoping that Whitby is the week after, but we'll see...

(This would also mean I get paid on the last day of WGW. This thought is not exactly thrilling. I'll start saving now, shall I?) WGW dates now confirmed. Just after my payday. Heh.

Arse. That's annoying ... I was rather thinking of going to Convergence; I think I'm going to have to see how poor I am :-( - do you happen to know when I need to decide by if I want a cheap airline ticket? (though I guess `cheap' is probably a bit of a misnomer on flights to New Orleans ..).

Generally speaking, cheap tickets to NO do not exist. For the last couple years, cheap flights to the US have not existed compared to cheap flights to Canada, not even the usually reliable NY or Boston routes.

Oh feck indeed. I'm planning to make the big NY-Boston-Toronto trip in late September to early October this year. I've been planning this for quite some time. This means that if I go to Convergence, I'll make two trips to North America within six months.

Which is precisely what we did the last time we went to Convergence, actually. My friends in TO were like, "weren't you just here?"

I'll start saving now, shall I?

I've been intensively saving for New York for several months now.

If it helps, the NOLA committee chair says he's already talked to Jo and they won't be happening the exact same weekend.

That's definitely good news, and a very smart move on his part.

I suspect it may still clash with BTV, which would be unfortunate but quite understandable - BTV is in a more-or-less fixed easter slot, and it's really not big enough for Convergence to justify consider it when scheduling.

Fingers crossed on that one.
