Opera

Hmm. There's a fair chance that (barring physical or financial disasters) I'm going to be attending the Wexford Festival Opera this year, probably with my sister. This could be a bit of a shock to the system. :)

I don't know much about opera, although I do like some of what I've heard. And, er, I'm not familiar with any of this year's operas. Which are:

Gaetano Donizetti - Maria di Rohan
Gabriel Fauré - Pénélope
Carlisle Floyd - Susannah

I'm sure google will provide some help (and I can probably find sound-snippets on Amazon), but is anyone here familiar with them and able to share some opinons?

I am jealous I always wanted to go and never made it.
Although I have promised the other half that I will drag him off to Venice this year to the Biennale, always wanted to go.
