Well if they want him, frankly they deserve him.

Yeah. I'm not sure if it makes it more or less likely that we'll lose Blair (which would be some sort of silver lining...), but I still don't think it's good for the UK, the USA or anyone else.

Thing is, I'm not surprised. Much as I wanted Kerry to win, this always seemed slightly inevitable.

I know I'm seeing this from an outsider's perspective, but I have to wonder how a divided USA is going to cope with another term. A lot of people were concentrating their anti-Bush fury onto the elections... is everyone really just going to simmer down, shut up and wait for the next ones now? I find that hard to believe.

And as for Europe's reaction...

I agree. The problem is that it isn't just them who get him. It is us as well.

True; ah screw it, I'm creating a biovirus to wipe out the world and we can all restart from caine-sapiens instead or something.

Those of us who don't want him get him too, unfortunately.

Sorry; if the ROW could have helped by voting, we would have.

Seriously ungood. Blair and Howard will be capering about more than ever.

I meant Australia's ludicrous prime minister, John Howard, but yeah, who could vote Tory in the UK? it'd have to be the Dems for me there at the moment.

sorry I thought you meant the nut who is charge of the Tory party over here. Unfortunately he is just as pro-war as Blair, and good old Howard loves Bushie Babes.

We have the Lib Dem's over here you were the only totally anti-war party out of the three main ones, there is also the green party.

Our Labor is against the war, as are our Greens and Dems. We did Vietnam already. We don't have imperialist notions. So yeah.

But the Right has control of both the House of Reps and the Senate (which is like the US senate really), however, and can involve us in any madness.

During the previous eight years The Right didn't control the Senate, and a few of their worst things were blocked.

Now they'll go hog wild, but there are plenty of pele around from the Vietnam years, and they organised amazingly fast.

So, social unrest.

I was watching it unfold in Louisiana. Although I did have my money on Syria, now I think Iran's most likely to be next. After all, he's gained the "political capital," and intends to spend it.
