Anime geekery
Oct. 22nd, 2004 08:42 amSometimes starting at the end is no bad thing. Over the last week or so I've seen large chunks of Hellsing (thanks to
mrbear, who bought thw DVD set... :) and I like it a lot - despite watching the last couple of episodes (where a lot of brutal and nasty things happen to regular characters) first. Actually, possibly that's one more reason why I like it - I knew from the start that they hadn't bungled the ending... :)
It's got style. It's got weirdness. It's got a vampire called 'Arucard' with a wide-brimmed hat, custom-made guns and a very strange attitude. And it's got the sort of bizarre factual errors you get when the Japanese write a series set in London and Birmingham...
What more can you ask?
