Looks like the Cruxshadows (with a slightly amended line-up) will be back in the UK in July... and the only gig announced so far is in Dorset [the only event Netgoth has listed for Dorset, oddly enough], with support bands I've never heard of ('Avoidance of Doubt' and 'Drugdealer Cheerleader').

Edit: And, as if by magic... Rob Lee posts on various mailing lists to say they'll be playing Birmingham on 29th July, too.

Er...

Well if thats what it takes to see the Cruxshadows I am willing to travel to Dorset (though hopefully they will play somewhere a LITTLE more civilised)!!!

Well, they have decent cider there, at least... :)

Hmmm that could win it for me (he says still wearing is Cruxshadow T-Shirt :)

Well, yeah. I think my initial reaction would have been "cool, a decent event in Dorset!" if I'd known at least one of the other bands. As it is... fear wins the day. :)

Avoidance of Doubt sound like Rammstein wannabees with a copy of what sounds suspiciously like Lee Chaos midifiles backup CD. They`re quite good actually, but the frontman is a bit Zoolander for my tastes and they DO have a few moments that made me sit up and pay attention due to them sounding remarkably like Chaos Engine keyboard parts.

Er, no, actually. If it was Blackmachine I'd be a little less surprised by it - and besides, Blackmachine was always pretty good...

This is in Dorchester, at the Corn Exchange...?

There are posters up around Slimelight mentioning a forthcoming Cruxshadows tour, but it doesn't mention any dates or venues.

Given they have played slimes before it wouldn't suprise me if they do appear

I now have mental images of the uncivilised Dorset Barbarians locked in battle with an army of invading Goths...

Birmingham? Civilised? Possibly nearer civilisation that Dorset!!!

Well we have the advantage of spikey clothing, but the disadvantage of not wanting to ruin the eyeliner/hair!!

I hope they have the sense to play somewhere thats ISN'T Slimes as the space there is not really great for bands - especially bands as physical as the Cruxshadows. Hopefully the Underworld or the Garage.

I suspect we won't see them playing for Flag, though (I hear tales about last time...) so those might be tricky to arrange. *sigh*

But if Rogue jumps up and down at Slimes he will bang his head on the speakers!!!
I would also have thought Slimes would not have the space for the amount of people who would want to go.

Whee! Will make it to at least one of Birmingham and/or Dorchester.

Birmingham might be easier, but the sheer surreality of Dorchester may have to be done!

Seeing as it's about an hour and a half from here, and not on a School Night, so far Dorchester is winning out over Birmingham. And definitely winning over Slimelight if that becomes an option.

"And definitely winning over Slimelight"

...look, I know Dorchester may not be the most hip'n'happening of towns, but there's really no need to damn it with faint praise... :)
From: [identity profile] ashesandlies.livejournal.com
sorry for the intrusion :)

a while ago rogue told me that the next time they were playing london it WOULD be at the slimelight....and definitely not the underworld coz they weren't nice to them at all there
From: [identity profile] mrph.livejournal.com
I'd heard some bad stories about that show, so I'm not too surprised. It's a shame, though - the Underworld is (IMHO) the better venue by a long way.

Ho hum.

From: [identity profile] snow-leopard.livejournal.com
Indeed. The Slimelight is REALLY not very suitable as a gig venue.
