So, November WGW tickets are £34? That's... hmm... well, it seems steep at the moment. But they say it's a three day event, and I'll wait to see the band list before I start moaning.
Well, s'okay for me, I'm not doing the Nov one this time. Will be moving and doing all that kind of thing so no time or money available then. Will expect a full run-down when you get back tho...
I quite like the sound of a 3 day event, myself. I find that it takes a while for me to get used to things (particularly getting myself into a mood where I am sociable amongst the large crowds of ppl at the Spa), by which time normally the two main days are over. I found that the four day one seemed to get more enjoyable for me as time went on. Though I think a four day event is too long to do too often, so three days may seem a nice compromise.
Although that's looking at it from the point of view of moving one of the Thursday or Sunday night events backwards or forwards as appropriate (as happened with both in November) since I agree that they're both essential events, and this does mean a significant increase in cost if you're not in a cottage. If I was intending to stay the same length of time, I probably wouldn't want to swap a Thursday/Sunday night for an extra Spa-night, irrespective of the cost, since it's nice to have a mix.. (talking of cost, remember that this April's is 30 quid and you'd pay a fiver for Laughton's so it's not necessarily more expensive that it's already got).
Possibly think about looking into cottages for November (which usually insist you book for a week, anyway, and are still perhaps usually slightly cheaper than a normal length time in a b and b, IME)?
