Hmm. OK. So the C10 bands are now announced.

I want to go. I don't think I can afford to go, mind you. And it may not be terribly sensible to fly to Chicago to see a line-up with such a big British element (Goteki, Passion Play, Manuskript - all worth watching, but all of them bands I've seen at least six or seven times already...)

But...

It's Convergence.

The Brides are playing.

AVP are playing.

It'd be nice to see Black Tape For a Blue Girl again (especially in a venue that's not the Agra... :)

I want to see if the Manuskript effect is transatlantic. :)

Most importantly, though - it'd be fun and a chance to see people I've not seen since C8.

I'll need to think about this one for a while.

:::cough:::
Frank the Baptist is playing.
Well worth the trip if only for that! ;)
I'd like to go to see manuskript. I'm curious enough about them but I think I'd just have to protest at the Goteki show with "I Miss Sneaky Bat Machine" signs of some sort.

*sigh* Ok, I'll add Frank The Baptist to the growing list of reasons to attend...

Manuskript are consistently fun live, and I'd definitely recommend them.

As for Goteki/SBM... well, they were still playing "Boneshaker" live quite recently. Although my main concern would be how their new style/line-up works out...

I still have a few photos from the early SBA days somewhere, from when they played Coventry's (rather scummy) Dog & Trumpet venue. Ray guns, loudspeakers, a banner reading "Kill the living, fuck the dead!"... *sigh* They just don't make 'em like that any more. :)

Practically nobody I know can afford to go - myself included.

That never stopped anybody.

So buy your ticket already.

I could probably scrape the money together, it's the unpaid leave I'd have to take from work that's the problem (I don't think they'll let me).

Seeing as they have a bad habit of ringing me when I'm sick, and the only place in the world my phone doesn't work is North America, I doubt I can get away with calling in sick.

We are expanding our UK vs US Extreme Scrabble Drinking Extravaganza and the UK folks are severely outnumbered.

The metro is a much better venue than the spa. Great sound and it is two levels (Balcony) so the band will be playing to a wall of people. It's an amazing venue, especially for "rock music"

Ok, that's a point in its favour. :) But that still relies on me having some £ to exchange after Whitby (...and Leipzig).

We shall see...
