1. When did you first connect ("go online"), and how?
1990 (or possibly early 1991), Cov Poly. USENET was the thing that lured me... well, that and MUDs..

2. What was your first communications program?
For email, unix mail (briefly) and then elm. For news, rn.

3. When did you first chat over the Internet, and how?
Really can't remember. Did talk allow chats over JANET? If so, I probably used that to chat to Bristol folk at least once in my uni days, I guess.

4. What chat type program(s) do you use now?
I don't. My PC's too unstable at the moment.

5. Who was your first service provider?
ClaraNET.

6. Did you ever use AOL?
No

7. Do you admit using AOL in public?
See above.

8. Who is your current ISP?
It's still ClaraNET

9. First computer that you used to access the 'net?
Coventry Poly's cc_sysk Unix box, via a t200 (or possibly a t881) terminal.

10. What computer do you use to access the 'net today?
Today? Ancient unreliable P200. By Monday it should be swapped for my shiny new Athlon PC...

11. What was your first 'net handle?
Pharaoh. Blame LPMUD.

12. Did you use any other handles for any length of time? If so, what were they?
I used Pennywise for a little while, then switched to Morpheus.

13. What 'net handle do you normally use now?
Morph, mrph - after I'd used Morpheus for a couple of years, people started calling me morph in day-to-day conversation, so I eventually switched to that. At least partly because so many people wrote "morphues" instead of "morpheus".

14. Are you active on any web sites other than LJ? If you're willing to say, what ones?
Slashdot once in a blue moon, the topmum.co.uk WGW forums, Netgoth and Slashgoth.

Hmm, Pennywise rings a vague bell! I didn't realise Morph was a shortening of Morpheus. I've always had little orange clay man visions. How prophetic of you. I'll have the red pill please.
