Late last night, while getting out of the bath, I failed to spot the wasp perched on the towel. Well, I didn't spot it in time, anyway.

End result: two stings to my right thumb and one to my right index finger. Oh, and the wasp is still out there somewhere. The little git.

My thumb still hurts, too. Not a good place to be stung when your job involves a lot of typing... :(

Hey, it could have been a worse place.

Put lots of lemon juice on your thumb. It works.

Ouch!!! Poor dear!
(I have never been stung, thankfully. But my sister once got stung under the armpit - not nice.)

Grr, the weather is drawing the little bastards out of their hidey-holes; I've spotted several just waiting to harrass someone...

Owie! Hope it feels better soon. Pete would send his best wishes too, only he's too afraid of the word 'wasp' to come to the PC.

Ow! I saw the first wasp of the year today :( But at least you won't get huge blotches like I get when stung...

Still playing on Friday?

I think they die when they sting people, unless I'm thinking about bees. (cue chorus of 'Stevy, you're thinking about bees') Well, I gave up Biology at fourteen for good and sufficient reasons.

Owwww, anyway. Commiserations.

Stevy, you're thinking about...

No, they die when they reappear at unfortunate moments and get flattened with a bottle of Harpic's best bleach... ;(

Bees (or at least some types of bees) are the ones with the barbed stings. Wasps just keep on stinging (which is one reason why they're more aggressive than bees), although they do run out of poison eventually.

Still heading to London/Tenebrae, but not quite sure when I'm arriving or what I'm doing 'til I go to Gossips. Not terribly organised, basically. Should know by tomorrow night, though.

Hey, it could have been a worse place.

...and it very nearly was, the second time it appeared. Saying things like this while the wasp was still At Large was just tempting fate, y'know...

Ow. Yes, that would be bad. Oh well, it's dealt with now, anyway - and my thumb is mostly back to normal.

Hopefully this was just a lone wanderer - the idea of a nest in the attic or something is not nice. :(

Have a look outside on a fine day and see if there are any of the little bastards flying around the roof. If you have a nest it should be noticable.

I hope it was just the one.

I'm dreading the summer paintball season, because they tend to hover near opened drinks (which is why I drink water in the summer at the site - at least it has a lid.
I have a contraption designed especially for can-tops, so if I can find it I may use that and have coke instead.
They are little buggers though :/

Heh! Sounds as organised as me! Libby and the drunken Trubadors are begining our night of stupidness at the Marlborogh Head at 6, feel free to join us :) If you have trouble spotting us look for the red head in a PVC corset giggling...

Sorry :/
It didn't though. Maybe i was forewarning you and it would've Got you if i hadn't said it. See, lots of goths should give me pretty shiny things in return for that.

Well it was worth a try anyway.

*ting*
Differences between wasps and bees:
1) Bees are fluffy, wasps aren't
2) Wasps don't die when they sting you, bees do
3) Bees are generally friendlier, you can stroke some kinds and they won't sting you
4) Bees make better honey
5) Wasps pull bits off the garden shed and use it to build nests.
