Reading matter
Feb. 13th, 2005 11:12 pmPlenty of train travel this weekend, so plenty of time to read.
Finished reading Hannibal. Wasn't terribly impressed, I'm afraid - I've posted a review on
bibliotheca, here.
Also read Kurt Busiek & Stuart Immonen's Superman: Secret Identity. Which is really very good, and more than slightly strange and self-referential. In current DC-speak, I suppose it's an 'Elseworld', not connected to their normal superhero continuity. It's about someone called Clark Kent, growing up in the 'normal' world where superheroes - including Superman - are just things that happen in comic books. But when you're called Clark Kent, growing up in Kansas is not going to be easy, as you're never going to escape the Superman jokes from your classmates... not even when you discover that you may be the only person in the world who really does have superpowers...
