Abnormal service will be resumed

It's been a rather hectic month, which is one major reason for the absence of LiveJournal entries.

Between trying to organise my share of the BiCon stuff, the November goth-gig thing I'm planning (less hassle than BiCon, but also much more of a one-man effort...), work (aaaagh!) and sleep... well, I think it's fair to say that I've not been completely with it.

Just 33 hours left until the Horror That Is BiCon kicks off (from my point of view, anyway - it doesn't really start until Saturday, but...).

And I'm slightly amused to see that the pub we booked rooms in for the Friday night gathering/drinks, Whitefriars, is holding a mini beer festival this weekend. Oh dear. How very dreadful. However will we cope.

Musical wibblings

For a while now, I've been e-mailing mini reviews of new CD purchases out to a few friends. It occurs to me that this might be a better place to put them, so this is where they'll turn up in future.

You have been warned. But don't worry too much - lj-cut tags should stop them from cluttering your friends page...

Hmm. Most people I know use the lj-cut tags for BDSM content or other erotica. Whereas I use them for CD reviews. Does this say something deep and meaningful about my life...? ;)

But, hey, give the man credit...

Ok, I've gone and done it. After moaning, weeping, wailing and ranting about the damn things for years, I've gone and applied for a credit card.

This should test my willpower. Or expand my CD collection. 'Cos I can now finally order a load of the stuff that's not distributed in the UK - Gossamer, Temple of Rain, The Awakening, Doctor Kevorkian and the Suicide Machine, the Red Flag "Fear of a Red Planet" stuff...

And I won't have to deal with the ludicrous "what do you mean you have no credit card?!" cash deposits that German hotels seem to impose. There may also be a mobile phone lurking in the nearish future...
