Oh, for fuck's sake. This is a tragedy and a godawful act of terrorism, it is not a George Lucas film. Life is not Hollywood. While I'm pretty sure that the President's speechwriters are smart enough to realise this, I wish they'd stop trying to present it to the public in this gift-wrapped complexity-free way.

Date: 2001-09-13 07:05 am (UTC)I agree with you about the coverage. I'm now getting tired of seeing yet another person tell of their not-death. Analysis, discussion of what to do now, moving on - these are the things that should be discussed.
In fact I think the lack of this discussion on the TV is part of what's prompting us to do it here.
