Originally from [livejournal.com profile] zotz, I think...

Mine are:

Mad Dogs & Englishmen - a rather fun collaboration between Joseph Porter (vocalist of Blyth Power) and the Whisky Priests. They did one album, "Going Down With Alice", then went their separate ways...

Seventh Harmonic - let me get this straight. They win the Meltdown magazine "best album of 2001" award, but nobody has them as an interest? Not even [livejournal.com profile] mr_tom, who's probably to blame for me first listening to them? Tch. Excellent ambient/ethereal goth(ish) stuff, with female vocals. Now on their third vocalist...?!

Slashgoth - the monster that is http://www.slashgoth.org

Slivovica - honest, it's not lighter fuel. East European alcohol. The stuff I've had mostly came via /Mel/, and was Slovakian - there may well be many other variants out there...

Somnambul - Portishead meets Dead Can Dance. They played last year's Leipzig WGT, and I was much impressed. I think they're back this year, too...

The Ghost of Lemora - excellent new goth band from London. They've got the sort of pop-goth energy that made Manuskript, Horatii and (early) Emma Conquest work so well live.

Waterglass - another laid-back female vox goth(ish) band. But they're only on their second vocalist. ;) The new album's out in June, which should raise their profile a bit!

Whisky Priests - folk-rock band. I can't think of a more accurate/extensive description right now...

Yukio Ninagawa - Japanese theatre director. For the last few years, he's been bringing a show to the London Barbican each summer. Some have been Shakespeare, some have been Japanese materials (ranging from whimsical folk tales to bleak Yukio Mishima plays).

hey, I like Waterglass too! Dead diverse!

And you really must come and try the Anson Rd house Slivovic. Far superior to the stuff that comes in the bottle with a yellow label...

BTW: Are you coming down for Atilla/Blyth Power?
