Mute are re-releasing all of the Virgin Prunes albums in a month or so. This is a good thing.

Not least because If I Die, I Die (one of the ones that was originally released on CD - not all of them were) is now impossible to find... unless you want to pay £30+ on eBay, that is.

That's mildly scary. Synchronicity and all that jazz, hmm?

Anyway, if he didn't specify "on CD", you can get it on vinyl for about £10. It's just the CD version that's elusive...

Eh? Two Virgin Prunes-related posts in a row (see [livejournal.com profile] razornet's journal? Bizarre. Good news about the re-releases though... I've been meaning to track some Prunes down for ages. Are they doing anything else to them (bonus tracks, remastering etc.)?

Hey Mrph! How you doing *hugs*

I've not checked out any of Mutes bands - which would you recommend for a beginner?

Ooh. Tempting. But only if I have lots of money, because there's VP songs I love and then there's complete crap and not a lot in between.

Er, hard to say, really. Firstly, they're pretty diverse - and secondly, I'm no expert. As for the Virgin Prunes stuff, it's a bit hit and miss - personally, I think the hits outweigh the misses, but that's just me.

Although you can't go far wrong with Diamanda Galas or Fad Gadget, in my opinion. On the flip side... don't ever go see Komputer live. Their brand of electronica's not bad on CD, or so I'd imagine, but they are officially the world's least interesting live band. :)
