WGW. Sunday.
Apr. 15th, 2003 07:32 amI've decided that attempt to document WGW in chronological order is doomed. So here's the Sunday report. May or may not post more later.
Sunday got the lowest breakfast turn-out of the weekend, as usual. With
mr_bear and I for 8AM sharp, as usual. However shattered I am, I can always sleep
after the food.
Sunday morning was the traditional bad TV weirdness. Watching kids TV with the mob, with the sound turned down and an... alternative... beer-fuelled commentary provided. As ever, popular games included "match the drug to the
presenter" and lewdness about sock puppets.
Then went for a wander 'round Whitby with
snow_leopard, which was nice - we ran into assorted people, ate ice cream, wandered up the abbey steps and generally had fun.
After that we got a dose of culture, with the usual leisurely meal in the WH&G. The food never disappoints, the company (this time
dmh,
chimera_s, Paul, Markus and Heather) is always good, Markus always chooses excellent wine and Dave is always entertaining ("flash roasted dead cow, please" - you can't take him anywhere). Stopped
by for coffee afterwards, recruiting
taoist_goth on the way.
Then off to the Elsinore, meeting Natasha,
liz_lowlife,
moonmudge,
girfan,
nils and
rosenkavalier on the way.
Wandered away for a bit, called via the B&B and was introduced to
imago's Mr Lizard (no, not Ant. Another Mr Lizard... :),
met up with
snow_leopard again and wandered back to the Elsinore for a while, before deciding that it was all a little too loud and
hectic. And that there was likely to be an accident with an ice cube at some point.
So we took a pleasant wander around scenic Whitby instead, running into strange cats before stopping for a cup of tea. A civilised way to end a good weekend. Although we never did get a game of Gother Than Thou going...
